Friday's Fab Finds: Snow Day Edition

Each Friday we'll be sharing some of our favorite things, whether it's something we're wearing, eating, reading, watching ... whatever!

Since most of us in the Philly area have been snowed in for the past two days (around 10 inches - the most snow we've had in a long time) we're all basically dying for spring. If we have to watch one more episode of Bubble Guppies or Thomas we might say F-IT and take off to Florida. Don't tempt us.

Check out a few things we're loving lately that will make your last days of winter a bit easier:

Kristin's picks:

Swiss Miss Simply Cocoa. I can't claim to be the most clean-eating person on earth, but I've become much more aware of ingredients in recent years, and when I looked at what was in a packet of instant hot chocolate I kind of gagged. After trying the Trader Joe's hot chocolate a few months ago (not a fan) I found this one and have been a convert ever since. I love that it only has five ingredients and is made without all of the artificial stuff, but still tastes great. Just keep in mind you have to make it with hot milk, not water! You can find this at most grocery stores, Target, Walmart, etc.

Needless to say, I won't be enjoying this cocoa in the backyard.
Snoozies sequin ballet slippers. I saw these at my local Hallmark store and had to get them. Sequins, hello! They're a perfect little pick-me-up when you're stuck in the house, and keep your feet warm, too. They come in a bunch of colors and also are machine washable, which is a bonus when your kid spills milk all over them like this morning. My only gripe is that the bow started to come loose on the one slipper after about a week, but it was a quick fix to sew it back on. You can find these slippers on Amazon for around $14.95, depending on the color.

Watching Frozen ... again ... with my Snoozies.
Body Shop Hemp Hand Protector. Our friend Nikki gave this cream to me as part of our "favorite things" gift swap two Christmases ago, and I'm kind of obsessed. Even better, I'm still not even through half of the tube because it's super thick -a little goes a long way! This is the only stuff that helps my super dry, cracked heels (that, and the Ped Egg) in this crazy winter weather. It's currently on sale for $12 (normally $20), plus Body Shop is running a lot of great deals right now, like buy 3 get 2 free or buy 2 get 1 free on certain categories. Definitely worth stocking up on your favorites!

Lori's picks:

Trader Joe's Sweet Sriracha Uncured Bacon Jerky. At a little over $5 a small pouch, this isn't something I'm going to be snacking on regularly but it was a nice, meaty, cold weather treat. If I'm going to be plowing through Trader Joe's with a toddler and 500 other Philadelpheans, you bet your sweet ass I'm going to be sure to get something I'm going to thoroughly enjoy. This 2 oz. of goodness is definitely on my list for next time. A little sweet, a little spicy, a lot delicious.

Perfect Match Mood Changing Gel Polish. I just got back from a manicure and while this may not be something new, it's something FUN that I thought everyone should know about. It's a gel that changes color. It's called Perfect Match Mood Changing Gel Polish colors and while I'm not convinced it changed based on your mood (it's whether you're hot or cold. Period.), it's something different and it makes me smile. If you're a gel manicure gettin' gal, ask your salon if they have this brand and give it a shot.
